SynopsisISBN 978-1-84753-823-9Aaron Eden had run away from a foster home where he had been continually abused, to find his half brother, who his mother had described to him before her death in a train accident, four years previously. Aaron had arrived in Fox Flat, purely by accident and had gone into the cafe to buy a feed. Having used his last five dollars, he took the opportunity of picking up a wallet left on the table and was seen by the cafe proprietor. The man yelled at Aaron and the boy ran out of the cafe and up the street into the extensive pine forest. It was just on dusk and Aaron was attacked by something big that left him bleeding and unconscious on the damp earth. When Aaron awoke the next morning, he found that his clothes were torn and he had a wound on his buttocks. He walked through the forest following the path away from the town. He was forced to hide from four men searching for him, as the wallet he had stolen contained details of a large drug shipment arriving soon in Melbourne. Later that morning, Aaron was found by a rider on a trail bike, whom for some unexplained reason he instantly trusted. The rider took him to his home and dressed the boy's wounds and gave him some clothes to wear. The four men looking for the boy worked for Gascoigne, who was into drugs, standover tactics and other nefarious practices. Unbeknown to Gascoigne senior, his son, and the local copper, who was on the take, had raped and killed a relative of the rider. The senior Gascoigne had ordered the killing and he had ordered the local copper to find and get rid of Aaron. Two days after Aaron had gone to live with the rider and Christian's retainer, a grey haired man named Elliot, he finds out the rider is a werewolf and it was him that had bitten the boy. Aaron experiences his first change and is rapt in the change. The rider and his retainer decide to move from their current property to another in a small town, some distance away, called Ravenswood. This was to ensure that Aaron is protected from the cop and Gascoigne's goons The retainer lets the rider, a writer; named Christian Wellington and the boy, Aaron Eden know that they are half brothers and Christian is the person that Aaron has been seeking. The move to the property is started and the three think that they are safe, however the removalists nephew, Luke, who is into drugs and owes Leonardo, the younger Gascoigne money, tells Leonardo, that at the new house there are two boys matching Aaron's description. Leonardo decides to send the corrupt cop, Roper, to snatch either one or both boys. The removalist's nephew, for his trouble is drugged by Leonardo and taken to the two men's torture chamber where he is tortured and raped and then his body is dumped in an old well. The torture session is recorded and the resulting DVD is put into Roper's bag. Roper drives to Ravenswood, where he is expected, the men and boys being warned of his plans and subsequently he meets, not one, but four werewolves, who scare the crap out of him and he confesses to the murder of Christian's cousin, young Justin and three other young men implicating Leonardo. Aaron and his new friend Matt find the DVD of the torture session involving Justin and after watching the movie are traumatised. The boys are taken to Melbourne for counselling by Christian's friend and lover, Dana. The group while in Melbourne find out there is another immature werewolf on the loose in the Toolangi State Forest and they subsequently attempt to find him. Counselling with Dana over, the group return to Ravenswood and Aaron starts school again, where he meets his new home room teacher a man named, Paul Timms, called warlock, who is a Warlock with vast powers and a dark secret. Warlock has a doll, a black faceless soft toy filled with a bean like filling, which contains the spirit and essence of the warlock's son Jack who tragically drowned at age six. The doll is capable of thought and speech and moves around the walls and ceilings like a shadow, which coincidentally is the dolls name. Aaron, Matt and their new friends explore an old house and are captured by a group of vampires. The warlock and Christian in his werewolf form rescue them. Warlock summons his old master Arian to attempt to resurrect Jack and is rewarded by the master's treachery. Warlock retaliates and seals the black wizard in a bottle and buries him under a soon to be concreted road, for eternity. Finally the group's lives return to normal and life goes on. Buy The Book
